e-Despatch is a small thought which has immense usability for Government officials, Elected Representative & Citizens. The corporate way of communication via email is in the process of getting internalized in government therefore any IT intervention to automate the despatch needs to be as an enabler rather than reengineering. This smart thought of keeping the Government process intact and still able to make instant communication has opened eyes for many eGovernance initiators as an example of "small idea big impact" .

This is to certify that ST & SC Development Department has installed the "e-despatch" solutin which has helped the Department in systematizing the issue and despatch of letters. This has also helped in:-

  • Ensuring greater degree of transparency by making leters available to common citizens.
  • Reducing the manpower required to do despatching through manual dak systems.
  • Reducing the time and expenditure involved in despatch of daks.
  • Ensuring that the revipient has received the communication without any chance of postal delays or mis-sent communication.

Poverty is directly proportional to distance from information

If the poor do not have the right information they will not be able to access the right type of service provided by Govt. in right time, in right manner.

e-Despatch enables the sharing of information about the services provided by the Govt.

Many e-Governance initiatives failed because the software came without any relationship with the existing Government process.

e-Despatch is a software application where the govt. process is kept intact and IT comes only as an enabling tool.

By the use of e-Despatch we can not only monitor the despatch of the letter, we can also ensure that the field functionaries access the letter, they get the information on the same day, if not immediately and act accordingly.

The time block which was happening earlier between government’s instruction and action in the field as per the instruction, has been now removed because of e-despatch.
